On May 10th the Murano Condominiums Project in Silverado Ranch, near Maryland Parkway was wiped-out by a fire! This project was nearly halfway sold out and nearing completion. 147 units were reduced to ash and cinder by the raging inferno that caught the eye of most of the news agencies in Las Vegas.
Reportedly flames of up to 30 feet in height steadly consumed the area as over 60 fireighters battled the blaze on Wednesday May 10th. Although a through investigation was underway as soon as the area was stable it still is unknown what caused the fire. Workers who were on site wednesday morning have been questioned and many witnesses have been asked what their opinion was and if they saw anything unusual.
What is known at this time is that Lan Terra Developments has released a statement saying that buyers will receive a refund, as there are no plans to rebuild at this time. This project was an Urban Village project off strip in a nice location for family buyers. They had a decent price point starting around $300,000 and it is assumed that someof the buyers will look at projects like Sullivan Square and Manhattan West who have similar price points and amenities. Although Brickwater is closer to the same geographic area and has better access to the Strip and the i-215 beltway.
